Large crowd honors First Responders
The annual Community Patriotic Celebration, sponsored by our church, was held Sunday, July 2 at 2:30 p.m. at the church's Family Life Center.

A large crowd from the Frankston area community attended.
This year the celebration focused on honoring “First Responders” in Frankston and surrounding communities with members, past and present, from police, fire, rescue and other emergency response units recognized. Leading in the recognition was the former Chief of the Frankston Volunteer Fire Department and veteran of many years of service as a First Responder himself. A proclamation from the City of Frankston, read, at left, at the event, marked the occasion.
Another new feature was brief addresses by multiple speakers summarizing their versions of patriotism witnessed or personally experienced.
On hand were members of Frankston Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5073 who opened the event with a presentation of flags. Frankston area Boy Scouts led in the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem was sung by a popular local vocalist
A combined choir from local churches and other musicians performed patriotic music and the audience was invited to join in singing patriotic selections.
